Thale

...is situated on the northeast side of the Harz. The monastery of Wendhusen is one the many sights of the area. It is the oldest monastery in the area of Sachsen-Anhalt nowadays.

The Bodetal-cable car will bring you directly to the Hexentanzplatz. There you will find one of the oldest nature theatres of Germany, the Harzer Bergtheatre Thale. Also the Tierpark and the Wallpurgishalle are situated in this area.

From Thale you can walk on the Harzer Hexenstieg, an almost 100 kilometres walking trail, right across the Harz to Osterode and you will pass multiple points of interests, for example the Brocken, the Torfhaus and the Oberharzer Lakes.

The Teufelsmauer is a rock formation located at the northern foothills of the Harz Mountains and is one of the oldest nature reserves of Germany.
